Situated near Stellenbosch, Spier is one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms with a recorded winemaking history dating back to 1692. While rooted in this heritage, we've got a vibrant and conscious energy, and are home to one of the largest collections of contemporary South African art.

- Previous vintage awards: 91 Points James Suckling, Double Gold Veritas, 4.5 Star Platter. 2020: 4.5 Star Platter, 91 Points Tim Atkin, Double Gold Veritas. 2019: 4.5 Star Platter 2023.
- A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
- Malolactic fermentation and maturation took place in 300L French oak barrels for 18 months (60% first fill; the balance second fill).
- Wines were individually crafted for each varietal to reach its highest potential.
- Selective tasting determined the composition and expert blending ensured harmony between the five varietals.
- Deep, ruby red in colour.
- On the nose blackberry, cherry and blackcurrant is supported by cedar, dark chocolate and hints of fennel.
- The vibrant palate has great balance and dense tannins.
- The palate will be enhanced by aging.
- Enjoy with slow-cooked oxtail, a beef casserole, or wild mushroom risotto.

- Aromas of gooseberry, lime, and white peach are most prominent, with subtle hints of fynbos
- The palate offers blackcurrant leaf, elderflower, and passion fruit, ending on a long and structured mineral finish
- Best served with Butter-roasted free-range chicken with seasoned goat cheese under the skin, or battered SASSI-friendly fish nuggets with anchovy mayonnaise.

Creative Block 3 2021
- Awards: 4.5 Star Platter, 90 Points International Wine & Spirits Competition.
- A blend of Shiraz, Mourvèdre, and Viognier.
- The varietals were fermented and matured separately to develop their unique characteristics and express the terroir accurately.
- Free-run wine was racked to barrel for malolactic fermentation and maturation in 90% French and 10% American oak 300L barrels (50% first fill, 50% second fill), for 16 months.
- Subtle perfumed notes of violets, black cherry and mulberry are followed by spicy flavours of black pepper and fennel.
- The silky, rich mid-palate is complemented with concentrated fruit and dense, silky tannins.
- Serve with smoked pork belly or a mildly spicy Indian vegetable curry.
- Alcohol by Volume: 14.53%
